The Morotola PageWriter™ 2000X is 42% heavier and 65% larger by volume compared to the Inter@ctive Pager™ 950 from RIM, hence too big and heavy to comfortably fit in most pockets. Equipped with an antenna providing 1W transmission power and a proprietary battery not available at general stores that lasts for a week, make the Motorola PageWriter™ 2000X the weaker contender on both battery life, transmission power, size and weight.
The Inter@ctive Pager™ 950 on the other hand is the smallest and lightest keyboard driven two-way device available today. It runs for three weeks on a standard AA battery available at general stores and is equipped with an antenna providing twice the trans-mission power of the PageWriter™. Transmission power has a direct effect on indoor and fringe coverage. (Twice the power, a cellular system design, and three weeks on a double A battery??? This doesn't make sense !!!)
More than just a two-way pager, the Inter@ctive Pager™ 950 can also function as a full-featured connected organizer and e-mail terminal providing the user with a wireless extension of the mailbox at the office, featuring single mailbox integration with Microsoft® Exchange™. Even more, through a browser interface, users can navigate and personalize web content such as news, stock reports, traffic information, flight status reports, package delivery tracking, entertainment information, weather reports, and more. In addition, the device can also be used as a full-grown mobile data terminal for vertical applications. There are over a hundred mobile data applications developed for the Inter@ctive Pager™ available today, designed for a variety of business needs.
