WEBLINK WIRELESS BANKRUPTCY
After last week's announcement that they had become cash-flow positive,
were thinking of buying SkyTel, and that they were "very successful"
—this week WebLink cut an additional 20% of their workforce or approximately158
more people. I was very sorry to hear this—and I heard about it from several
different people. It is very painful to think of the impact that this will have
on the families of those who lost their jobs. Believe me when I say that there
was no joy in receiving this news—even when I heard that one person who
I didn't like very much was included in the layoff. There are no winners. It
is indeed a sad day for us all.
GLANAYRE NOTICE
I had several customers who were interested in upgrading their existing Glenayre
one-way paging systems to two-way so I kept bugging Glenayre for an answer to
the question: "Have you really quit accepting orders?" This is the
answer that I received yesterday:
"Please be advised that we will not be able to accept new orders as per the guidelines of Discontinued Operations."
Brad, Found the Unipage information interesting. I have been using a Unipage terminal since 1989. Ray Russenburger recommended it in a seminar I attended the previous year. I have the capability to refurbish message managers in my shop and have an assortment of spare parts and boards. I am a carrier on 152.48 in Arkansas. Jack Baker |

It is, however, being offered "as is" without warranty or guarantee of any kind. No prices have been set—I am asking for reasonable offers. I am not accepting ALL offers, but some people have already gotten some terrific buys. All equipment will be shipped FOB Toronto, Ontario CANADA. All packing, shipping, insurance, and customs duties are the responsibility of the purchaser. There are transmitters and receivers available in various VHF high-band ranges, as well as 900 MHz. The list contains equipment from Motorola, GE, and Glenayre. There are also Glenayre power supplies as well as Sinclair RF combiners and filters. Check it out! |
